For the last four years, I’ve had the privilege of representing Democrats on the San Francisco County Central Committee (DCCC) on the eastside of the City. My term started with a virtual swearing in because of the Pandemic and has closed out 2023 with our very first in-person meeting on December 13, 2023.
I am so proud to be a San Francisco Democrat, but there is still a lot of work to do to grow the Party and make it a better representation of our voters. That’s why I’m running for re-elelection.

Issues
It is time we get back to basics in San Francisco. As a Party, we should be advocating to improve the everyday experience of the people who live, work, and visit our great city. These are the issues most near and dear to me:
Public Safety
As a career prosecutor and a public safety advocate, I work hard every day to see that our communities are free from violence and our neighborhoods are safe. We are facing a critical shortage of police officers, and people in our most vulnerable communities no longer feel safe to go out of their homes. We can create a community where individuals and families can live without fear by investing in public safety personnel and technology and activating communities to take back their neighborhoods.

Ensuring Quality Public Education
Great public schools are the cornerstone of a thriving community. I went to public schools from kindergarten all the way through college, and now I’m a public school parent. The state of public education in San Francisco is spotty at best – from a payroll system debacle to catastrophic budget shortfalls to some of the worst performing schools in the state, we are due for a huge overhaul of our public school system. If we want to have a vibrant City, it starts with building a quality public school system that ensures every student receives the education they deserve and prepares them for a successful future.
Supporting Small Businesses
Small businesses are the economic engine of our City. A robust small business sector creates jobs, leads to innovation, and builds a more resilient community. Particularly in San Francisco, our small businesses are the foundation of our unique and vibrant neighborhoods. To encourage a thriving small business community, we need to streamline regulations to make it easier for small businesses to operate.

Addressing Our Housing Crisis
San Francisco is in a housing crisis. We need to build more and as fast as we can. From downtown commercial-to-residential conversions to simple Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) in existing homes, we must encourage and facilitate more housing across all income levels so people can stay in San Francisco.
I’m also running with a diverse group of Democrats that I hope will join me on the DCCC. Our slate is called the SF Democrats for Change. We all share the same commitment to get San Francisco on a trajectory to fix our city’s key issues on public safety, affordable housing, quality public schools and fostering a vibrant economy. I hope you’ll vote for all 14 of us on the Eastside of the City or our 10 slate members on the Westside. There is a lot that the DCCC can do to support these issues and other very important ones like building more housing, improving public transit, combating climate change, advocating for gun reforms, and supporting a woman’s right to choose. By taking positions through resolutions, working with stakeholders, and supporting candidates that prioritize these issues, we can make a difference.
